A programme of pre-recorded podcasts, poetry, music and more created by diverse artists and individuals of all ages exploring experiences of isolation, mental health, wellbeing and more in this extraordinary time. New content will be added as the festival progresses. Listen Here whenever you wish.

Stories and Activities  – LITTLE ANGEL THEATRE
Every week day at midday.
Little Angel Theatre are releasing daily video stories, told by their talented team of performers. Enjoy classics such as Snow White and Beauty and the Beast, and discover lesser-known tales. Each story is accompanied by a craft activity, so you can recreate the characters as puppets using simple materials you’ll find at home.

Insta-poetry & #PostalPoetry – ALL CHANGE
in collaboration with HOUSE OF ILLUSTRATION
Beautiful poetry created in lockdown by young parents, young women and older people working with All Change associate artists Francesca Beard, Cecilia Knapp and Sarah Blanc, illustrated by illustrators at House of Illustration  – posted on Instagram and in the St. Luke’s Centre lunch and newsletter deliveries to older residents.

The Compact Coronavirus Timecapsule – COMPANY THREE
Join Company Three in a global project to capture young people’s experience of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Coronavirus Time Capsule is a project by Company Three and supported by the Anna Freud Centre to create new videos to give us an insight into young people’s experience of lockdown. The project was launched in the first week of UK lockdown March by Company Three so far over 150 groups from 16 countries have taken part. If you live in Islington it can also be part of an Islington wide time capsule project. Create your own with your group, or see the hundreds which have already been created on www.companythree.co.uk

Summer Reading Challenge – THE READING AGENCY & ISLINGTON LIBRARY & HERITAGE SERVICES
Join THE SILLY SQUAD! The Summer Reading Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency, is delivered in partnership with public libraries and funded by Arts Council England. The Challenge encourages children aged 4 to 11 to enjoy the benefits of reading for pleasure over the summer holidays, providing lots of fun and enjoyment as well as helping to prevent the summer reading ‘dip’.

Music Industry Session with Bass 6 KEY CHANGES
Key Changes
shares some of Word2020’s commitment to creative disruption by parachuting smooth-tongued beatbox champ Bass 6 and Islington peoples’ poet Paul Lyalls into its Music Industry session for musicians with mental health experience over two consecutive weeks. Expect interactive word play and lyrical dexterity plus open mic from Key Changes’ artists.
Free to attend for all musicians who have mental health experience by advance registration to: artist@keychanges.org.uk

Little Crab and Very Big Crab live in a rockpool. Today, they’re going for a dip in the sea. “This is going to be so great!” says Little Crab. But then Little Crab catches a first glimpse of the water… Oh. The waves! They’re ENORMOUS. Will Little Crab be brave enough to go in?This puppetry adaptation of Chris Haughton’s picture book has been created by Folded Feather during the lockdown in association with Little Angel Theatre.

Older residents aged 60+ are invited to join Francesca Beard to take part this #247 challenge online creative workshop for National Writing Day 2020. As we emerge from lockdown, the power of words to give voice and agency to our stories couldn’t be more pertinent. “When I grow up I want to be clever and funny, wild and free”. In When… one little bear shares his hopes and dreams. Determined to explore the world yet stay true to himself, he heads off on an inspirational adventure.

This puppetry adaptation of Emma Dodd’s picture book has been created by Pinwheel theatre during the lockdown in association with Little Angel Theatre.
